Mega Evolution & Gigantamax Changes

hauntedblossomMega Evolution, unlike in the games, is a permanent state after exposure to their respective stones. This transformation isn't instant, but over a period of time, as the Pokémon grows into this final stage. The timeframe for this growth will range from 2 - 4 months, depending on how actively the Pokémon is being trained. While in the process of this transformation, the Pokémon is required to have a collar or other type of securing device, like a harness, to ensure a stable and linear growth. This phenomenon occurs outside of captivity as well, although it has less documentation, so scientists haven't been able to agree on how long the transformation takes. In the wild, it is not known how Pokémon who undergo this achieve full growth without their respective stone attached to them. Theories exist, but none can agree on how it occurs, only that it does and has been recorded over centuries.
Rogue Mega Evolution is a phenomenon that occurs when a Pokémon absorbs too much infinity energy too quickly, the energy all Pokémon possess, and undergoes rapid transformation. This is excruciating for the Pokémon as their rapid transformation has occurred in under a month and it is unable to control this rapid growth in both body and power. Rogue Mega Evolutions are to be treated with extreme caution and a League Official should be contacted immediately to seek advice on how to deal with the Pokémon.
To obtain a Mega Evolution takes effort and work. Trainers must be certified by the League, much like the levels and Legendaries licenses, though for the most part not as strict. On average, the difficulty of obtaining a Mega License is around that of the Level 65, with some exceptions based on the Pokémon themselves. Legendary Mega Licenses are on par with the Lv. 80 license exam due to the additional strength that comes with a Mega Evolution. Legendary and Mythical Pokémon who rely on items or moves to change form despite a general lack of stat gain, are also included into this, and are closely monitored by the League. These Pokémon are as follows.
Primal Reversions - Groudon, Kyogre

Gigantamax is much the same as Mega Evolution, with fully formed Mega Stones of their own. Galar tried to rename these to "Max Stones" or "Wishing Stones", but this didn't catch on, with everyone still calling them Mega Stones globally, causing Galar to drop their attempts to change their names for the sake of uniformity. You can still find some Galarians calling them Max Stones, but these individuals are infrequently found. The majority of these individuals are old, or simply just stubbornly refusing to call them anything else. The enormous size of G-Max forms isn't accurate to the Pokémon's actual size, but a hologram much the same as their fellow Dynamaxed Pokémon. Their information and sizes can be found here under the "Mega Evolutions" tab. Those who have signature G-Max moves will keep them when Dynamaxed. The Dynamaxing phenomenon is, relatively, unchanged from how it functions in the games with one glaring difference: these large forms are not how large the Pokémon actually can become, but are instead large holograms that are tangible thanks to the work of being connected to Wishing Stars, pieces of Eternatus' body, unique qualities. To Dynamax, one is required to be in a stadium that can host it, identical to the games. Wild Dynamax Pokémon cannot be found.
Due to overlap on some Megas and Gigantamax, the following Pokémon will have their G-Max removed and the opposite used in favour of the other, or removed altogether:
Charizard - G-Max is removed, two Megas already exist. Leon uses a standard Dynamaxed Mega Charizard Y instead, although its appearance is altered to what it looks like G-Maxed shown in the games for entertainment purposes.
Venusaur - A Mega already exists. Its appearance is altered to what it looks like G-Maxed shown in the games for entertainment purposes.
Blastoise - A Mega already exists. Its appearance is altered to what it looks like G-Maxed shown in the games for entertainment purposes.
Pikachu, Meowth, Eevee - Base & Middle Stage Mons, "Megas" are for fully evolved form and this AU will keep to that. Their unique forms are STRICTLY for entertainment purposes and thus do not possess these forms outside of stadium battles in Galar.
Gengar - A Mega already exists. Allister uses a standard Dynamaxed Mega Gengar, although its appearance is altered to what it looks like G-Maxed shown in the games for entertainment purposes.
Duraludon - Due to how it may be handled on the Efisgan continent with the original G-Max being a regional evolution instead of a Mega form, and due to Duraludon not being a final stage as Archaludon exists as an evolution.
